Firefly & Frog Watching Experience at Firescreek Botanical Winery
Join us for an enchanting twilight experience amidst the lush gardens of Firescreek Botanical Winery. Only a few exclusive sessions are available. Guests will have the rare opportunity to witness the magical glow of fireflies and listen to the soothing chorus of frogs under the stars. This intimate nature experience offers a unique glimpse into the vibrant nocturnal life that thrives in our winery’s natural habitat. Private Sessions can be arranged on a different evening for $45 per person + online booking fee, with a minimum equivalent of 10 guests.

NB: Due to low light/dark in the rainforest and gardens this tour is best booked for those who would find outdoor evening adventures fun. Guests will be seated in the rainforest to wait for the fireflies to appear, to allow for minimal disturbance of their important breeding cycle.

Firefly & Frog Watching Experience at Firescreek Botanical Winery – What to Expect
Join us for an enchanting evening where you’ll embark on a guided walk through our serene winery gardens, illuminated by the soft glow of fireflies and accompanied by the gentle sounds of frogs. Your guide will begin with a briefing on firefly behaviour and fascinating facts about these magical creatures. You’ll also learn about the different frogs that make their home in the winery’s lush environment.
To ensure the safety of our delicate wildlife, we kindly ask all participants to follow these important rules:
- No touching: Fireflies are fragile, and even brief contact can harm them. Please admire from a distance.
- Quiet enjoyment: Keep noise to a minimum to maintain the tranquil atmosphere and avoid disturbing the wildlife.
- No flashlights or phones: Bright lights disrupt firefly activity. We’ll provide lighting for the walk.
- Stay on designated paths: To protect the plants and creatures, please remain on the paths marked by your guide and use the chairs provided to sit and enjoy the amazing sight.
- No insect repellent: The winery grows organically. If you wish to use repellant please do so before coming to the winery as you will not be able to apply at the winery, even in the car park. Long sleeves and pants recommended and enclosed walking shoes are required.
- Wet weather: If there is only a small amount of rain the tour will continue. Please bring a raincoat or umbrella. In the event of heavier rain, the tour will be cancelled and refunds provided.
- Unpredictable: As fireflies are animals in the wild it is difficult to determine how many you will see on any given evening. There are always some that come out and if you don’t see one we will refund you.
This experience is designed for small groups to maintain an intimate and respectful interaction with nature. Please dress with long sleeves and pants, preferably light colours and wear comfortable enclosed walking shoes.
