A deep cultural experience into Aboriginal culture and heritage led by talented Elder.

Morning Bush Tucker Day (5 hours)

Why everyone should take a tour with a local Aboriginal elders. A rich and primally rewarding hands on experience, learning from local Darkinjung elder about a diverse range of Aboriginal culture and traditions. Experience the spirituality of a cleansing ceremony, feel the vibrations touch your soul from the strength of his digeridoo playing.

In the morning visit a local Aboriginal sacred site and hear fascinating bush yarns and significant history of the region, discover the traditions of living off and respecting the land and its flora and fauna.

For lunch enjoy a delicious meal in the lush gardens of Bamboo Buddha. Then in the continue to Firescreek Botanical Winery for a traditional smoking cleansing ceremony, digeridoo display, discussion of edible bush tucker in coolamon, and wine tasting made from fruit, flowers and native botanicals.

Arrive at Firescreek Botanical Winery carpark at 9:30am meet with your Aboriginal guide for the day,  who will provide directions to the sacred site and provide details of the days itinerary.

Return back to Firescreek Botanical Winery for a welcome tasting of your first wine and under the lemon scented gums,  you will experience a smoking cleansing ceremony, Aboriginal story telling and a phenomenal digeridoo display.

A presentation of various Australian Native plants will be provided and depending on the seasonality, tastings of the Australian native plants will be provided and Firescreeks’ winemaker will guide you through wine tasting and discuss how Australia native flora and other botanicals are used to make these unique wines.

Full day package including sacred site visit, lunch and afternoon bush tucker and wine tasting.

Please note that one week notice required for this tour and a minimum of 6 adults or 4 adults and 3 children for the tour to commence. If minimum numbers are not reached within 48 hours prior to your tour, we will contact you to see if you would like to rescheduled or be notified when the tour will next be running.  If your group is smaller than the minimum numbers, private tours are available on request.

Water bottle, hat, sunscreen, wet weather rain coat in the event of rain.

Full day tour requires own vehicle for transportation to sacred site, lunch venue and return to winery.

For special dietary requirements, please advise at time of making booking.

Tour will depart on time. Those who are late will miss the visit to the culturally significant sacred site and will have to join the tour at 12:00 at Bamboo Buddha for lunch.

Firescreek Aboriginal Storytelling and Wine Tasting Experience (1.5 hours)

During this workshop you will experience an unforgettable display of Aboriginal culture. A rich and primally rewarding hands on experience, learning from Aboriginal Elder about a diverse range of Aboriginal culture and traditions. Experience the art of an Elders Aboriginal story telling, feel the vibrations touch your soul from the strength of his digeridoo and clapping stick playing, examine a wide range of traditional Aboriginal tools and artefacts and learn how they were first made and enjoy wine tasting of award winning wines in the beautiful gardens at Firescreek Botanical winery.

You will be shown and where seasonally possible and practical be able to taste Australian Native plants. The Firescreeks’ winemaker will also guide you through wine tasting and discuss how Australian native flora and other botanicals are used to make these unique wines.

Arrive at the cellar door at 11:00am where you will be met by the Aboriginal Elder and the Firescreek winemaker. The local Elder will take you on an immersive and interactive discussion of Aboriginal culture, heritage and traditions. Including a masterful didgeridoo display, a wondrous Aboriginal instrument crafted from nature, that echos a vibrant and primal sound, a not to be forgotten experience.  

A discussion about Australian natives displayed in a handmade Aboriginal coolamon bowl with also be provided and where seasonally possible and practical, guests will be able to try this Aboriginal bush tucker. The local elder will guide you through traditional Aboriginal stories and history of the Aboriginal people and an immersive discussion about a wide range of Aboriginal artefacts will be provided by the Elder. 

The Winemaker will take you on a guided tasting of all current vintages of wine produced at the winery with a discussion about the winemaking process and the use of indigenous botanicals utilised in the making of specialised vintages, that are not made anywhere else in the world.

4 Adults – $250.00 per adult (18+ years old)

5 Adults – $200.00 per adult (18+ years old)

Child – $99 (2-17 years old) 

Infants (0-1) Free of charge

Children and infants are welcome, however the recommended age to appreciate this tour is 8+ years old. 


Private Experiences 

Private experience for up to 6 guests – $1000.00

Private experience for up to 12 guests – $1500.00


Please note a minimum of 7 days notice is required for all bookings for the Aboriginal Storytelling and Wine Tasting Tour. 

Gift cards can also be arranged for someone special via the BOOK NOW then Gift Card buttons. If the gift card is for less than 4 adults, the recipient will need to contact the winery to arrange a suitable date. 

Prices valid until 31st of March, 2024. 

The Aboriginal Storytelling and Wine Tasting tour is not available Christmas Day, Boxing Day and during NAIDOC week. NAIDOC week is on the 1st Sunday in July for one week.
